Black Mystery Month merges particular mysteries of American history through a suite of still-life photographs and accompanying short video. The photographs act as ‘blackboards’ that engage audience interactivity through their form and content, test the cultural and historical aptitude of each viewer, and disrupt reckless claims of a post-civil rights America through lessons on an enduring pandemic of our age.
